Islamabad, Pakistan – The Truth International Pvt. Ltd. (TTI), a renowned development sector organization based in Islamabad, has launched a groundbreaking initiative called ParliTalk. The initiative was inaugurated by the President of Pakistan, His Excellency Dr. Arif Alvi, at the International Road Safety Conference held in Serena Hotel Islamabad in February 2023.
ParliTalk aims to gather all parliamentarians from around the world under one digital platform to talk, discuss and generate a conversation on global issues. The platform is focused on six thematic areas, including human rights, food security, education, health, elections, climate change, global peace, and trade and development.
ParliTalk’s website hosts a diverse collection of global parliamentarians’ interviews that offer enriched and contextualized perspectives on the abovementioned themes. The platform is non-partisan and invites current and former members of parliament from multinational, national, state, and regional Parliaments, Congresses, and Senates to participate in discussions and share their ideas.
Through ParliTalk, TTI aims to enhance and broaden the scope as well as outreach of the platform with the intention of making it a globally inclusive forum for all countries. The platform allows parliamentarians to acquaint the public with their expertise on relevant thematic areas and make the most of digital means of communication.
In his address at the inauguration ceremony, the President of Pakistan highlighted the significance of ParliTalk in promoting global peace, tackling climate change, and fostering international cooperation. He emphasized that ParliTalk would facilitate the exchange of ideas and promote cross-border collaboration among parliamentarians, enabling them to work towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The CEO of TTI, Mr. Fahad Thaheem, expressed his gratitude to the President of Pakistan for inaugurating the platform and praised the efforts of the team behind ParliTalk in creating a space for global parliamentarians to engage in meaningful conversations on critical global issues.
ParliTalk welcomes collaborations with national and international organizations in order to further its mission of promoting inclusive and sustainable human development through effective parliamentarians’ engagement with the public. The platform believes that effective parliamentarians’ engagement with the public can help resolve global issues on a fast track.
